FeG Göttingen
The Free Evangelical Church of Göttingen is a Protestant free church located on the Zietenterrassen in Göttingen. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is at the heart of our church life. We are convinced that in Jesus, God reveals His full love to us. This love inspires us and gives us faith and hope. We want to celebrate this and share it with more and more people!
Christ at the Center
"Christ is Lord" is one of the oldest creeds in Christianity. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord of our church. Everything can be centered on Jesus in freedom and love, including our personal lives. This can happen when we walk with Jesus in our daily lives, live out of his forgiveness, and thus become free and fearless to live a life with God.
The Bible as a standard
We believe that the Bible is the standard by which all questions of faith and life are measured. The Bible provides us with reliable answers. It is God’s Word expressed in human language! That is why it requires careful interpretation. We do this together, striving to reach a shared understanding while respecting each individual’s conscience in matters of interpretation.
Authentic relationships
At its core, the church is a gift and a place where we can experience an authentic relationship with God and with one another. We want to foster fellowship: comforting one another, laughing together, praying together, and praising God. We also give each other the opportunity to grow by encouraging one another to try new things and to live out forgiveness.
Love that spreads
We want to share the liberating message of the living God of love through our words and actions. We want to help God’s love take root in our city. We do this always through voluntary service, humility, and love for our neighbors. In this way, we hope that God’s love will find a response.
Free Evangelical Church
As a congregation, we are a member of the Federation of Free Evangelical Congregations (K.d.ö.R.), which, with its approximately 500 local congregations in Germany, has been firmly rooted in the Protestant tradition for 150 years.
