We are a safe community!

We are a

A safe community!

The younger generation is very close to our hearts. We want to be a church for young people where trusting relationships—both among people and with God—can be nurtured. Through these relationships, we aim to help young people build self-confidence, strengthen their identity, and empower them to develop and live out healthy relationships with God, their neighbors, and themselves.
This requires special protection.

We are doing our best to ensure this protection. That is why, as a congregation, we are on the path to becoming a safe congregation. The phrase “on the path” is meant to convey that this is not a fixed point or a catchy slogan, but rather that we are actively striving to make progress on this important issue. Along this path, we are pursuing the following goals:

  • Children know and assert their rights.
  • Employees are vigilant and self-critical. They receive training and are bound by a code of conduct.
  • All employees must submit a police clearance certificate.
  • Child endangerment, violence, and abuse are not taboo topics if we are to address these risks effectively and specifically.
  • We have a network and know where to find counseling and support services.
